A KURSE N NW

Course North-North West

This journey will take us to the Brijuni archipelago off the Istrian coast . For many years tourists were barred from visiting the Brijuni islands. In 1983 finally, they were proclaimed a national maritime park and re-opened for tourism. Today they are a treasure of untouched nature, a natural preserve of rare flora and fauna. Under a good wind we could even sail further west and stop off at the enchanting historical seaboard town of Rovinj, or we could turn southwards with the mistral in our sails and set course for Pula with its stunning amphitheatre from the Roman era.

Further to the north are the islands of Cres, Krk, Rab, steeped in Roman and Byzantine history, where we will also discover countless opportunities for bathing, snorkelling and diving.

The multitude of secluded coves, ancient fishing villages and mysterious, winding narrow lanes I know from my childhood still exert a magical lure which I would love to take you to see and explore.
